Review |
Scribbling Crow Tartare is actually 6 different plays in progress (one each night). The Northwest Playwright's Guild and Open Circle Theater have collaborated to bring these new, never before seen works to the public. This is emerging theatre in the most classic sense: a group of actors, seated; an actor reading the stage directions; an unfinished script; and an opportunity for the audience to ask questions directly of the playwright. The play I saw, "Hair and Disposition" by fledgling playwright Tod McCoy, was well prepared, had strong actors, and seemed a very promising work. If the remainder of the "Scribbling Crow" is as good, and if you like work-in-progress (the essence of getting naked in the theatre), then this is a sure bet. Besides, your festival button gets you in free. |
